Dear Patient PenSe Patrons,
An important step after a successful Kickstarter is to “survey” backers to find out what Rewards they want in our case there are many variables (color choices, custom engraving..) and numerous SKU's... It’s can become a big job, bigger that you might expect! But, obviously, a very important one to get right!
If I learned anything from my prior experience with Kickstarter surveys it's that they can quickly become a nightmare, a pain in the amassing and sorting of data, and a time drain (Particularly when there's more than 10 SKU’s).
So, this time around I did some research to find the best and most efficient survey options & helpers – we chatted with other Kickstarter companies and even Kickstarter Employees – we decided to take their unanimous advice and use the survey service best recommended BackerKit.
While I am very confident the team could meet the survey challenge, I would rather their talents be spent improving PenSe, and speeding up our fulfillment time.
PenSe was my unplanned need to remedy a number of issues I had with Apple’s new Pencil. Our solution "PenSe" took the whole team, and required placing other, bigger, more universal, projects on hold.
Until completed PenSe will continue to receive our foremost attention. You’re our first consumers and for a company that just officially launched December 5th of 2015, having any customers is a really big deal. We're grateful, proud and eager to rise to the challenge of building a brand and other great products. But right now we have the opportunity to engage you, to deliver a quality product and maybe build some early brand awareness and loyalty.
PenSe is a perfect niche product for a new company and team. Something we can build and perfect while order quantities are at an easy-to-handle volume.

Dear Backers,
Sorry about the delayed update. We have been working hard to get production lined up and running! We are working on getting surveys ready for you. The Kickstarter Survey is how we gather information about your pledge, mailing address, reward information, such as color, and other reward options. In my experience, this is something you want to try to get right especially with all the model variations we are offering, as well as, customizable aspects like laser engraving. If done without due diligence, the survey could slow down the speed with which we can get the product to you and this is something we definitely do not want to happen.
Surveys will begin to go out next week.
If you have a friend than wants a PenSe or are not a backer, PenSe is available for pre-order via Indiegogo's InDemand Platform link http://igg.me/at/Pense. You can also add on an additional PenSe for your friends and family in your survey, saving them some money. As our early supporters and first Backers, you will be getting the best price anywhere!
We met with anodizers / blasters this week and had a meeting with the machine shop. Final revisions on machine drawings and ordering aluminum are all in the works!
Additions worth thinking about when your survey comes are adding a stylus and/or another PenSe. If you are adding them on to your current order, they will be offered at a special discounted price!

I will miss having a live kickstarter, (and not at all). We have more than half an hour, but less than an hour... it's drawing to a close. We will be very active keeping you all up to date. Machining videos machining package designs and more! Expect us to update lots and frequently! keep telling friends about us. More after the campaign closes.

Over 20K we're nearly there!

With over 20k and more than 460 backers we enter the last 3rd of our Kickstarter. As mentioned in our last post we would be re-vamping the site, simplifying and changing things up in hopes to catch the eyes of new backers.
We hope you like the change and we have added several new rewards, to replace our valentines day specials.
The 1st new reward: Custom Engraving! this was our first stretch goal and something we really wanted to bring to backers, as it allows for further customization, it also turns PenSe into an extra special gift for friends or loved ones. Priced at $50 we encourage backers who want this add on to upgrade to this reward if desired. Laser engraving will be a feature exclusive to Kickstarter backers, but we're only selling 100 of these, so act fast!
The 2nd new Reward: PenSe with a brand new Apple Pencil! Starting at only $120, for the first 150 backers, this is our best deal yet! Again this is an offer that is exclusive to Kickstarter backer, together these will retail for over $150. For those without an Apple Pencil, this is your chance to save with PenSe + Apple Pencil.
We are very much hoping that with your help we can hit our funding goal by the weeks end. If you haven’t dropped by our Facebook page we recommend you take a look some exciting things are in the works this week.
We are eagerly awaiting images from our plater and hope to have some exciting production news to share in the next 24 hours. Keep up the good work backers!

Custom Engraving as an additional add on. We are trying to limit our reward selections, but for those who have already backed the PenSe campaign and would like to add custom engraving to your order. Please increase your donation amount by 10 dollars for every pen you would like to add the engraving option to. We will include a note in the surveys for the +$10 Custom Engraving Add-on.
