iPad Pro 9.7 and PenSe Apple Pencil Case

We are very happy Apple released a second, more affordable iPad (Pro 9.7") that supports Apple Pencil. Luckily we where still undergoing our final design revisions at the time of its release, and had time to reconfigure PenSe's magnetic interface.  Creating a Single model PenSe that fully integrates with both iPad Pro 12.9 and the new iPad Pro 9.7”. PenSe is quickly becoming an amazing product, we believe it will be the both the first and best Apple Pencil case on the market.

Other design revisions will be posted as soon as they are final. 

Nearly all surveys are filled out, thanks everyone,  backer we are awaiting to hear from please fill out the survey or email us so we can arrange some other way to collect your data. Can't find your survey, use Survey Recovery here and entering your Kickstarter Email.

 Additional add-ons via BackerKit and Pre Order include a Desk Top charger.  (The one we are selling on BackerKit is circular we mocked up this square model to test out.)

The Desk top charger can be plugged into the iPad directly (as seen below) usb or standard outlet with a usb to wall charger (using included adapter that comes with Apple  Pencil). 

PenSe will begin machining as soon as final design revisions are approved..

Hello Backers Surveys have finally been sent. 

Sorry about the confusion,  US / Domestic shipping is being removed as our kickstarter did not ask for it just hang in there while we adjust.  There is shipping on pre orders so things got a little mixed up. Other info 

Color Options - Example of colors 

Engraving Example on all models except Silver

 Engraving on Silver Anodize will use a ceramic coating process which will create black lettering when the laser hits the surface, example below. 

 I see your responses and some are being addressed in this post, others we are working on.  Will update again shortly.

Laser Engraving PenSe, Add on

We added on optional custom laser engraving to PenSe during the Kickstarter, allowing backers to further personalize their Apple Pencil Case. Like the rest of PenSe’s manufacturing it will happen all right here in Massachusetts, USA. A local Cambridge shop Danger!Awesome will be handling laser engraving, cutting away the color anodized layer. We wanted to give you a real life example of what this will look like, so we brought in our very dark purple anodized sample for engraving. Here is a look at the first pass. 

We set up surveys so you could easily opt in for Laser engraving (even if you didn’t add it to your original purchase). The add on cost for custom engraving is only $10.

Additionally, we have been working on new locking aspects to ensure PenSe's caps stay locked and secure. We are working with really thin aluminum at these end points making screw threading and even flat acme threading not really possible. This design will ensure easy securing of caps without putting too much stress on structural integrity.     

 We will be posting more updates soon. Keep an eye out for those survey emails. We will post a general update as soon as they are mailed.

Surveys: Thank you Backers Here is what’s happening next.

Again thank you for making PenSe a reality! A few things need to happen before we can kick off production and fulfillment.  

Here's a quick rundown:

First, Kickstarter transfer over the funds so we have the money to make the rewards, this takes a little longer than 2 weeks about 17 days and is now completed. 

Second, we have to find out what you ordered and where we need to ship them and more. As mentioned BackerKit will handle the survey to collect this information.  BackerKit surveys are planned to go out Monday. 

You will not need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email will contain a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards. In addition the sooner we have your order information the faster, we can set PenSe into full production, having color quantities and other specific information is needed for proper quoting from our several manufacturers.      

If you need to change your survey responses, add or remove add-ons, or update your shipping information, you can click on the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.) 

If your are dead set against filling out the survey, you can message us your information, backers who fill out the survey will get their rewards first. BackerKit helps will save us both lots of time and money by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing us with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments. 

If you used Facebook to log into your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you'd prefer to use, please message us. Again, thanks for all your support. We can’t wait to start mailing out PenSe: Apple Pencil Case.

 Today we picked up a 56 gram slice of the Muonionalusta Meteorite

 (recent Pb-Pb dating) marks this meteorite as some of the earliest matter in our solar system. It’s certainly the oldest space rock on our planet.
